Luxury Honeymoon Holidays from India
A bespoke luxury honeymoon designed around privacy, exceptional stays and seamless private travel.

Your honeymoon should reflect how you want to begin married life, whether that means a private-pool villa in Bali, an overwater stay in the Maldives, a European journey through historic cities and lakes, or a combination of safari, beach and wellness.

Bliss Travels plans personalised luxury honeymoons from India, with destination selection, accommodation, travel arrangements and experiences shaped around your preferences, travel dates and budget.

Indicative Bali honeymoon budget: Approximately ₹9 lakh per couple for a one-week stay, excluding international flights. This is an indicative starting price, not a fixed package rate; your final quotation is confirmed individually based on your dates, chosen accommodation, itinerary, and travel preferences.

Seasonal pricing: Bali honeymoon costs vary according to travel dates and availability. Accommodation and selected experiences can cost more during busy holiday periods and other high-demand dates. The indicative budget above excludes international flights and is not a fixed quotation. Your final cost will depend on the length of stay, accommodation, itinerary, selected experiences and travel season.

Choose a honeymoon that feels like you

1. Private-pool villas and tropical beaches

Choose a tropical honeymoon if your priority is privacy, warm weather, beautiful surroundings and time to relax together.

Bali is worth considering if you want a mix of beaches, cultural experiences, wellness, dining and time in different parts of the island. A journey might combine Ubud’s greenery with a beach stay in Seminyak, Nusa Dua or Uluwatu.

Properties featured in our Bali itinerary include The St. Regis Bali Resort, The Legian Bali and Bulgari Resort Bali. These are examples of possible stays, subject to availability and suitability for your dates and budget.

The Maldives is a different kind of escape, particularly if you want to spend most of your honeymoon at one island resort. Your choice of villa, transfer type, meal plan, resort facilities and included experiences can make a significant difference to the total cost.

Bali and the Maldives are not interchangeable, and neither is automatically the best choice for every couple. The right destination depends on whether you want variety and exploration or a more secluded resort-led stay.

2. A romantic European journey

Europe may suit you if you want a honeymoon with historic hotels, scenic train journeys, lakeside stays, private sightseeing and time to explore at your own pace.

Depending on your interests and available nights, you could consider:

  • France: Paris, the French Riviera and countryside stays.
  • Italy: Rome, Florence, Venice and Lake Como.
  • Greece: Athens and selected Greek islands.
  • Switzerland: Alpine scenery, mountain excursions, lakes and panoramic rail journeys.
  • The UK and Scotland: Historic cities, countryside, castles and slower-paced scenic routes.

For example, our Italy itinerary includes hotel options such as Hotel de Russie or Hotel Hassler in Rome, Aman Venice or The Gritti Palace in Venice, and Grand Hotel Tremezzo or Villa d’Este at Lake Como. Our Switzerland itinerary features options including Gstaad Palace, The Alpina Gstaad and Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa.

These are examples drawn from Bliss Travels’ existing itineraries, not a guarantee of availability or a claim that every property will fit every honeymoon budget.

3. Safari and beach

If you want something beyond a conventional beach honeymoon, consider combining wildlife experiences with time beside the ocean.

A journey of this kind needs careful sequencing. The safari region, season, flight connections, lodge category and beach destination all influence the experience and overall cost. Allow enough time for transfers and recovery between the two parts of the trip.

The best combination will depend on your travel month, how much time you have and whether you prefer wildlife viewing, scenery, beach relaxation or a balance of all three.

4. A wellness-led honeymoon

A wellness honeymoon can combine restorative treatments, movement, nutrition, time in nature and a slower pace of travel.

Bliss Travels’ wellness content features RAKxa Integrative Wellness in Thailand. Its published programmes include options such as detox, destress, weight management, immunity support, gut health and mobilisation, with programme lengths listed from three to fourteen nights.

A wellness-led honeymoon could centre on a structured retreat or combine a shorter wellness stay with other experiences. The right programme depends on your interests and the provider’s current offering.

How much does a luxury honeymoon cost?

Honeymoon pricing depends on more than the destination. Two couples travelling to the same place for the same number of nights can have very different budgets because of hotel selection, room category, flight costs, season, transfers and experiences.

For initial planning, use the following reference:

Planning factor What to consider
Initial Bali reference Approximately ₹9 lakh per couple for one week (excluding international flights)
Duration A longer stay generally changes the total budget
Season Demand and availability can affect flights and accommodation costs
Accommodation Room category, private pool, location and resort level matter
Travel arrangements Flights, private transfers, boats, trains and internal connections may affect the total
Experiences Private guides, excursions, wellness treatments and special arrangements can add to the cost

The Bali figure is an indicative planning estimate, not a quotation, and excludes international flights. It should not be treated as a price promise for other destinations or for every Bali itinerary.

Before comparing proposals, clarify whether each price includes international flights, accommodation, meals, transfers, sightseeing, taxes and other travel costs. This makes comparisons more meaningful.

When should you travel?

The best honeymoon month depends on the destination and the experience you want. India’s popular wedding season does not necessarily coincide with the ideal season everywhere.

Destination General planning guidance
Bali Bliss Travels lists June to October and December to March as possible travel periods. Conditions differ across the island and by activity.
Maldives Bliss Travels lists November to April as a preferred period in its sample itinerary.
France April to October is the period listed in the Bliss Travels sample itinerary.
Greece April to October is listed in the Greece sample itinerary.
Italy Bliss Travels lists March to November for its Italy itinerary.
Switzerland June to September is generally suited to warmer-weather activities such as hiking and lake cruises; winter offers a different alpine experience.

These are starting points, not guarantees of weather. Before settling on dates, consider your preferred activities, local conditions, seasonal demand and the time available.

For couples travelling immediately after a winter wedding, the practical question is not simply “Where is best in December?” It is “Which destination suits our dates, preferred weather, available nights and budget?”

Planning your honeymoon from India

Check passports before booking

If you are getting married shortly before departure, check that your passport details and proposed flight booking are consistent.

Changing your surname after marriage is not automatically necessary simply because you are married. If you choose to change your name or surname, check the current requirements with Passport Seva.

Passport Seva lists a marriage certificate or a joint photo declaration, Annexure J, among the documents that may be relevant to a surname change following marriage. A full name change follows the standard name-change procedure. Passport Seva also lists name changes among the categories ineligible for Tatkaal processing.

Do not plan around an assumed processing time. Check the current requirements and timelines before deciding whether to reissue your passport before the honeymoon.

Make sure your flight booking follows the passport details you will use for travel, and check with the airline and relevant authorities if you are unsure how to handle a booking after a passport change.

Check visa and entry requirements early

Entry rules depend on the destination, passport, travel history and itinerary. The following is a broad starting guide for Indian ordinary passport holders, not a substitute for checking the official requirements for your trip.

Destination Initial entry-planning check
Bali, Indonesia Indian citizens are listed as eligible for Indonesia’s Visa on Arrival. Check the current VOA or e-VOA process, eligibility and supporting documents through Indonesia Immigration.
Maldives A tourist visa is granted on arrival, subject to entry requirements. Check the Maldives Immigration guidance and complete the required Traveller Declaration through the official system.
Seychelles Visitors need to complete a Travel Authorisation through the official Seychelles Electronic Border System.
France, Italy, Greece and Switzerland These destinations are within the Schengen area. Indian passport holders generally need a short-stay Schengen visa. Start with the European Commission’s visa policy and the relevant consulate or authorised application centre.
Mauritius Do not assume visa-free entry. The published Mauritius government visa list reviewed for this page indicates that Indian ordinary passport holders require a visa before departure. Recheck the latest official requirements before booking.

Important: Visa rules can change. Verify the requirements for your exact itinerary, passport and travel dates before paying for non-refundable travel arrangements. A visa or travel authorisation does not itself guarantee admission.

Share dietary and celebration preferences in advance

If you follow a Jain or vegetarian diet, tell your travel planner what that means for you. A general vegetarian request may not cover strict Jain requirements, ingredients to avoid or preparation preferences.

Likewise, if you would like a honeymoon amenity, a private dinner or another special arrangement, mention it early. Requests depend on the property and availability, and should be confirmed rather than assumed.

What the planning process should cover

A personalised honeymoon should begin with your priorities, not a standard itinerary.

  • Your dates: When can you travel, and how flexible are you?
  • Your time away: How many nights do you have, including travel days?
  • Your style: Do you prefer beaches, culture, nature, cities, wellness or a combination?
  • Your budget: What total amount feels comfortable for both of you?
  • Your accommodation preferences: Would you rather have one exceptional resort or several contrasting stays?
  • Your practical requirements: Consider visas, passports, dietary needs, flight connections and mobility.
  • Your special requests: Share any experiences or arrangements that matter to you.

These details help determine whether a destination fits your honeymoon, rather than choosing a destination first and trying to make the trip fit afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

How much should we budget for a luxury honeymoon from India?
As a rough initial reference, a one-week Bali honeymoon may be planned around ₹9 lakh per couple, excluding international flights. This is an indicative estimate, not a fixed package price. The actual cost depends on the season, duration, location, accommodation, availability and selected experiences. Other destinations need their own itinerary and budget assessment.
Is Bali better than the Maldives for a honeymoon?
Neither destination is universally better. Bali offers a mix of cultural exploration, wellness, dining and beach stays. The Maldives is often more suited to couples who want a resort-led island escape. Your preferred activities, trip length and budget should guide the choice.
When should we book our honeymoon?
Start planning as early as practical, especially if you are travelling during a popular holiday period, want a particular room category or need a visa. Early planning gives you more time to compare options and confirm availability, but it does not guarantee a lower price.
Do we need to change our passport surname after marriage?
Not automatically. If you choose to change your surname or other name details, check the current Passport Seva requirements and allow time for the process. Make sure your travel documents and bookings are consistent before departure.
Do Indian passport holders need a visa for a honeymoon abroad?
It depends on the destination. Bali has a Visa on Arrival route for eligible Indian citizens, the Maldives grants tourist visas on arrival subject to its entry requirements, Seychelles requires a Travel Authorisation, and Schengen destinations generally require a visa for Indian passport holders. Always check the current official rules for your specific trip.
Can we combine more than one destination?
Yes, if the available time, connections and budget make the route practical. Combining destinations can add variety, but it can also add travel time and transfers. A well-paced itinerary should leave enough time to enjoy each place.
Can Bliss Travels accommodate Jain or vegetarian food preferences?
Dietary preferences can be included in the planning brief and communicated to accommodation providers and restaurants. Strict Jain requirements should be explained specifically and confirmed with each relevant provider rather than treated as a general vegetarian request.
Does Bliss Travels offer fixed honeymoon packages?
This page is intended for couples seeking a personalised trip rather than a fixed online package. The itinerary should be developed around the couple’s dates, preferences and budget.
How do we start planning?
Share your approximate dates, number of nights, preferred experiences and indicative budget through the Bliss Travels contact page. This provides a starting point for discussing destinations and possible itinerary structures.
