Stop in at one of the grand cafes along the water for a light lunch. In the afternoon, head for the best of the hill towns above Nice, notably St-Paul-de-Vence, to the north. Here you can wander its ramparts in about 30 minutes before descending on the greatest modern-art museum in the Riviera, the Foundation Maeght.
Continue over to Vence for a visit to Chapelle du Rosaire, where the great Henri Matisse created his artistic masterpiece for some Dominican nuns. From there, it's just 24km (15 miles) southeast to Nice. Have dinner at a typical bistro, serving a traditional Niçoise cuisine with the inevitable Italian influences.
Keeping Niece as our base. We head to Antibes. It’s less than 15 miles from Nice, but it’s a whole different world. If you have kids, you will want to be sure to head out to Marineland. It was started years ago as a small park, and today it is compared to Sea World in the United States. You can see killer whales and dolphins here. It’s the only park in France with these two species, and it has many other fine exhibits.
Check from the hotel & proceed to Avignon to see the Papal Palace and the bridge made famous in the song, 'sur le pont d'Avignon'. Traverse Provence, a picturesque area favoured by artists such as Van Gogh and Cézanne, to the Principality of Monaco. This small city state is both a constitutional monarchy and home to many rich and famous people! Explore the cathedral, where Prince Rainier and Princess Grace were married. Later, enjoy a Regional Meal in Monaco before arriving at your hotel. Day 7 : MonteCarlo
Check into hotel .Today we visit the glittering destinations around the globe, perhaps nowhere conjures up the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous as much as Monte Carlo in the principality of Monaco on the French Riviera. The very name has become synonymous with jetsetters who fly their private planes or moor their yachts here, mainly to try their hand at its legendary casino. The ornate casino, Europe’s most famous, was the primary impetus in turning what had been the continent’s poorest country into the world’s richest.
Monte Carlo, in literal translation, “Charles’s Hill,” was named for Charles II of Spain who made it the centerpiece of a revitalized Monaco in the 19th century. Today, Monte Carlo refers not to a city, but to the area surrounding the casino. As St. Peter’s Cathedral dominates Vatican City, the casino dominates Monte Carlo. Designed by Charles Garnier, who also designed the iconic Paris Opera House, the Monte Carlo Casino opened in 1878 to much fanfare. Queen Victoria of England may have referred to it as “a den of iniquity,” but her opinion was not shared by Europe’s other reigning monarchs and aristocrats, who made it a place of pilgrimage.Today’s visitors enter through the magnificent atrium lobby, which also provides access to the 520-seat Opera House Day 6 :French Riviera
